NOV 2005 We have been concentrating on our other project the Charade lately so there has not been much activity regarding the Shermans. But here are some news: We got the new a compilation 7" from the Spanish label Tragadiscos Records in the mail today. It's a six band split. Our song is called "Ignorance Is Bliss". The other bands are Lucksmiths, Nice Man, Sodastream, Pipas and Charm Filter 3. A great compilation. Check it out! http://www.tragadiscos.com/ We are featured on another compilation as well. Our song is called "Monday Morning Girl". The label is Austrailan Book Club Records. The compilation will feature husband-and-wife indie-pop combos. There is also a song by the Charade on it. It will be called "Pop The Question" and there'll be music from Sprites, The Crabs, Boyracer, Kanda, The Owls, The Golden Circles, Her Name In Lights and more! We'll keep you updated about this. MAY 2004 We are featured on two new compilation albums. The first is on Souvenir Records and is called "Popaganda, Volume Two - The Speed Of Light". It is a covers compilation of new-wave songs / bands from the 1977 - 1985 era. The Shermans track is a cover of Yazoo's "Too Pieces". The second compilation is on Happy Happy Birthday to Me records, run by Mike Turner who also makes the Bee's Knees zine. The compilation is called HHBTM Vol 3 and or the Shermans track is called "Monday". It was recorded around the same time as the"Happiness is toy shaped" album. And last film student Anne Dunckel (North East School of the Arts) will be using the Shermans track "Snowsong" for a short winter celebration fun happy animation movie. This we really looking forward to see! It's been a while since these pages was updated. Please check the "discography" pages for some compilations that we have contributed to. Still to come in the near future is a song called "Obligations Like Tar" on a compilation CD from Paperheart Records. Also the Cat's Miaow tribute on Cranky Love Records should be released any day now. we do a cover of "Not Like I Was Doing Anything".
