Out now is "One Good Summer," the debut five-song cdep from Glasgow's California Snow Story. Continuing in the tradition of fine Scottish pop bands like The Trashcan Sinatras and Belle and Sebastian, California Snow Story offers up their own take on the Glasgow sound.

"One Good Summer" evokes a feeling of nostalgia without leaving the present, the aural equivalent of looking back on a recently bygone era with a mixture of joy, regret, and understanding. David (formerly of Camera Obscura), and Anna trade knowing vocals that sometimes combine to form winsome male-female harmonies that float beside shimmering guitar lines.

Layered with acoustic rhythms and gently playful vocals, California Snow Story paints an almost-pastoral scene of classic pop, reminiscent of PO!, The Rileys, Le Coupe, and that last night with your summer fling.
